Frequently Asked Questions
I'm new to Face Yoga, will this actually work for me?
Absolutely, you’ll start feeling a difference in facial awareness, tone, and glow within a few sessions and with consistency, the visible results will follow. No experience is needed, just your face, your hands, and a little bit of time.
How do I use Face Yoga?
The exercises can be done sitting, standing, reclining or lying. At first you may want to practice them in a mirror and don’t worry if you laugh, this will help release tension as well. Remove contact lenses or glasses before you start. There is no need to press too hard on any of the exercises, just a gentle pressure is sufficient to see quick results. Try to breathe deeply in and out through the nose, as this will relax the mind as well as the muscles, meaning this will be even more effective.
How is this different from creams, tools, or Botox?
Unlike surface treatments, Face Yoga works from the inside out, strengthening and lifting your facial muscles, releasing tension, and improving blood flow. It's a natural, lasting approach to radiance and youthfulness.
How long will it take to see results with Face Yoga?
Results from doing Face Yoga really does vary from person to person. Most of the time you will see and feel some difference straight away. Your muscles may feel like they have had a good workout (just like with body exercise), you will see and feel less tension in the face and your skin may have a rosy glow due to the improved circulation. Others report deeper emotional shifts and confidence boosts even sooner. This is more than skin deep.
How does Face Yoga affect my skin?
All the exercises work in the hypodermis or the lower layer of the skin (the muscles and fatty tissue), the dermis or the middle layer (the connective tissue) and the epidermis or the upper layer (the cells). By working all these layers correctly it will increase blood circulation, allowing more oxygen and more nourishment to reach the cells of the skin (upper layer). The result is a clear, healthy complexion with a beautiful glow which has less toxins and has a better ability to absorb moisture. The massage techniques are designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the middle layer of the skin giving you a smoother, more supple, tighter-looking skin.
Can Face Yoga be done after invasive procedures?
If you have had surgery of any kind on the face, neck or head please check with your doctor before proceeding with Face Yoga. Generally, the techniques are safe for those who have had cosmetic surgery but there will be a time period after surgery where you must allow the surgery to heal before starting.
Will doing Face Yoga harm the skin?
Face Yoga is a very safe and effective way of having healthy skin, if done correctly. You must always use a feather like touch. Never do face yoga by pulling your face in any direction. Or pulling or dragging your skin in a rough and incorrect way. Doing this may cause wrinkles or some damage to the skin if done over a prolonged period.
Does it matter if I do not do Face Yoga for a while?
It is best to do the exercises once a day, 6 days a week as recommended but if you go a while without doing it, don’t worry. You may notice a slight difference in your face when you don’t do them, but your face will not suddenly droop or drop. Also, remember that face muscles have muscle memory so when you start again, you can usually pick up where you left off.
Are there any safety aspects I need to consider?
You must always do Face Yoga with a clean face and hands. All the exercises and techniques have been designed to be safe and beneficial. Always work at your own comfortable limit and stop if you feel uncomfortable or any pain. Always consult with your doctor.
